John Beechey CBE
John Beechey is among the best-known arbitrators in the world. He is a member of Arbitration
Chambers (Hong Kong and London - www.arbchambers.com). He has served as chairman,
party-appointed arbitrator, or sole arbitrator on international arbitral tribunals
around the world in both 'ad hoc' (including UNCITRAL) and institutional arbitrations under the
Rules of, inter alia, the European Development Fund (EDF), International Chamber of Commerce
(ICC), International Centre for Dispute
Resolution/ American Arbitration Association (ICDR/AAA), International Center for the Settlement
of Investment Disputes (ICSID), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), Permanent
Court of Arbitration (PCA), Singapore
International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and the Stockholm Chamber. He is a past President of the
International Court of Arbitration of the ICC (2009-2015). His term of office is regarded as
one, which brought about significant
reform to, and the reinvigoration of, the ICC Court. He had previously served on the Executive
Board of the AAA in New York and as a Vice-President and member of the Board of the LCIA. Before
his retirement from private practice,
he was the founding partner and Head of the highly regarded International Arbitration Group of
Clifford Chance LLP. He is a member of the Governing Board of the International Council for
Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), the Chairman
of the Board of the BVI International Arbitration Centre, a member of the ICC Commission on
Arbitration, a Council member of the ICC Institute of World Business Law, a Fellow of the
Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member
of the Investment Advisory Panel of Woodsford Litigation Funding. He participated in the
ground-breaking IBA working groups responsible for the Rules on the Taking of Evidence in
International Commercial Arbitration and the Conflicts
of Interest Guidelines. As an Observer (initially, for the AAA and latterly for the ICC) at the
UNCITRAL Working Group, John contributed to the revision of the UNCITRAL Model Law and the
UNCITRAL Rules of Arbitration. He is an
occasional lecturer at the Universities of Columbia in New York, Oxford, Milan, Munich and
Vienna and at the Max-Planck Institute in Luxembourg. He is in demand as a panelist at
international arbitration conferences and as an arbitrator
at the Willem C Vis International Commercial Moot.

Niccolò Landi
Niccolò Landi has served and serves variously as presiding arbitrator and sole arbitrator in
arbitrations administered by the Milan Chamber of Arbitration (CAM), the International Chamber
of Commerce (ICC), the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC)
and in ad hoc domestic Italian and international arbitration proceedings. He also acts as
administrative secretary to tribunals before the ICC and the International Centre for Settlement
of Investment Disputes (ICSID). Niccolò
is a member of the International Centre for Disputes Resolution (ICDR) Panel of Arbitrators and
Mediators. He is a former co-chair of Arbit - the Italian Forum for Arbitration and ADR
(2016-2017) - and a current member of its Advisory
Board. Niccolò has acted as a member of the Global Advisory Board of the International Center
for Dispute Resolution Young and International (ICDRY&I) and as a Vice-President of the Alumni
Association of the Willem C. Vis International
Commercial Arbitration Moot (MAA). Niccolò is President of the Supervisory Body established
under the Legislative Decree No. 231/2001of several multinationals, overseeing their compliance
in Italy with all applicable corporate
governance and ethical rules. He lectures on arbitration-related topics at the University of
Roma Tre and at the University of Turin. He also teaches the “Master in Public Procurement
Management for Sustainable Development” and
“Master in International Trade Law” courses at the International Training Centre of the
International Labor Organization. A member of the Milan Bar, having graduated in law from Siena
University, he holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.)
from University College Dublin. He is admitted to appear before the Italian Supreme Court.
